Fanboys: “They didn’t even show Superman saving anyone! He showed no concern for the people in danger.”
People Who Actually Payed Attention: “Except when he saved the kids on the bus… and the men trapped on the oil rig… and Lois Lane multiple times… and those soldiers… and flew to the other side of the planet to stop from destroying…oh…about 7 BILLION PEOPLE. Not to mention every other living creature on Earth.”
I think the problem people have is that the villains in Man of Steel were actually true to their word. Zod really did try to wipe out all of mankind. Lets contrast that with the villain in Avengers (another enjoyable movie, don’t get me wrong). Loki brought his army of Chitari to conquer/enslave mankind. Well, those Chitari sure do take a long time to kill people don’t they. Like the scene where Captain America saves all those people from the Chitari with a bomb. It sure is nice they waited to kill the people just long enough for Cap to show up.
The bad guys in Man of Steel, on the other hand, just went ahead and started killing people. All the people that died in Metropolis were killed while Superman was on the other side of the planet fighting a machine was litterally crushing him to the bottom of the Indian Ocean. It’s not like he could have sent the military to the other side of the planet. That would have taken hours. Superman, unlike the Avengers, had to make a difficult decision. He was the only thing that could get to the world engine fast enough to stop it.
Take your tired arguments somewhere else, butt-hurt fanboys.
